Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Information provided in this section is general and is not specific to each camp location. For specific information on each camp location, utilize the navigation menu above to reach the proper location. Some answers may include specific information for certain locations.

All GrowFit locations currently run our main camp program from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 

All of our GrowFit staffers are highly trained. Ranging from certifications to bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology, each GrowFit staffer is educated not only in the core of their expertise, but also in GrowFit methodologies, including the Kolb experiential model of knowledge development in pedagogy.

Our training is extensive and recurrent. All managers are required to have CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Campers are grouped with kids who share their ages and interests, to ensure that every child stays safe, engaged and has fun. No one is ever grouped with anyone outside of their age range unless it is a declared group activity.

Campers are asked to bring their own hearty lunches and several snacks at most locations. In Redwood City at SportsHouse, lunch is included from Kicks Sports Grill. For nutritional facts and information about SportsHouse’s lunch, please check out our Nutritional Health page.

GrowFit can accommodate most allergies, including peanuts and gluten. It must be signified on your child’s registration or we will be unable to assist. Please ensure that you put the information in the Allergies section on your Care.com registration.

Before campers arrive, each parent must fill out the medical history form as part of the online registration. If your camper has a severe allergy, we will do our best to accommodate their restrictions. We can offer support such as nut-free tables during lunch or hold EpiPens on hand in case of an emergency.

  • Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the camp date will be eligible for a full refund, minus a 3.95% cancellation fee.
  • For cancellations occurring within 7 days of the camp start date, we are pleased to offer a credit for future participation in our camp.
  • Please be aware that cancellations on the day of the camp or after the camp has commenced are non-refundable.

Your child should bring at least 3 snacks, a hearty lunch (at most locations), two water bottles, and an extra set of clothing for younger children. For outdoor locations, please apply sunscreen before hand and pack sunscreen and protective sun gear, like hats and sunglasses.

GrowFit always tries to accommodate drop-ins as much as possible, however, it may be difficult on busier camp days to do so. We recommend, at all times, that if you are bringing your child to a camp, that you pre-reserve their space online by registering for that specific location.

There is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate a drop-in on any given camp day.

Activities for ages 4-6: Campers participate in 8 different activities each day in 30 min- 1 hour blocks. Sample activities for children ages 4 – 6 years old: Soccer, Jump House, Basketball, Tag games, Arts & Crafts

Activities for 7-8, 9-10, 11-13: Campers participate in 10 different activities each day in 30 min- 1 hr blocks. Sample activities for children ages 7 – 8, 9 – 10 and 11 -13 years old: Bubble Soccer, Badminton, Roller Hockey, Basketball, Dodgeball, Soccer, Volleyball

No, campers of all ability types and beginners are highly encouraged to join us.

Yes, all campers are grouped according to age.

Children must be four years old to attend camp. In certain circumstances, a camp manager may accept a child under the age of four, but it is rare. Please contact us for more details.

Yes. If you give us 7 days advance notice and space is available, you may transfer your session to a different week. You will have to contact info@growfitpe.com or call (650) 394-5265 to do so. 

You may only transfer your session to another camper within your immediate family.

Absolutely. You can make a note on the registration page if your camper wants to be grouped with someone else. However, we cannot group campers of different age groups, because activities are designed specifically for certain age groups.

If you think your camper might need special accommodations while at camp, please contact us via email or phone. We are pleased to welcome every camper.

All GrowFit staff go through extensive background checks and attend professional development specific to physical education teaching. Campers are always under supervision during each part of the day. In the event of a minor injury parents will be notified via a phone call, email or in person during pick-up/drop off. In case of an emergency we will call 911 and immediately notify the parent or guardian.

Yes. Our staff rehearses evacuation procedures for fires, earthquakes, lockdowns and any other problem that may arise on campus.  All first responders in the area are contacted prior to the start of camp as well.

To view past registrations you’ll need to log in to your care.com account. Then go to the top right corner, click your name and then it should show all of your registrations through our system.

Refunds & Credit Requests

As a reminder:

Refunds are given to all families that cancel at least 7 days prior to the first day of camp. Cancellations within 7 days can be used as credit. Cancellations on the day of camp or after the camp dates are non-refundable. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some refunds are available without the usual restrictions. Please see our COVID-19 Information page for more information.
