Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Information provided in this section is general and is not specific to each camp location. For specific information on each camp location, utilize the navigation menu above to reach the proper location. Some answers may include specific information for certain locations.

Our main camp activities at all GrowFit locations happen between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please aim to drop off your camper between 8:45 AM and 9:00 AM to catch the start of the fun. But don’t worry, we understand that sometimes life happens, so late drop-offs and early pickups are perfectly fine.

Campers are grouped with kids who share their ages and interests, to ensure that every child stays safe, engaged and has fun. No one is ever grouped with anyone outside of their age range unless it is a declared group activity.

Campers are asked to bring their own hearty lunches and several snacks at most locations. In Redwood City at SportsHouse, lunch is included from Kicks Sports Grill. For nutritional facts and information about SportsHouse’s lunch, please check out our Nutritional Health page.

GrowFit is equipped to handle a wide range of allergies, like those to peanuts and gluten. However, it’s crucial that you indicate any allergies on your child’s registration form. To ensure we can provide the necessary support, please make sure to fill out the Allergies section on your Care.com registration form.

As part of the online sign-up process, we ask every parent to complete the allergy information for their camper. For those with severe allergies, we strive to make the necessary accommodations, including providing nut-free zones at lunchtime and keeping your EpiPen readily available for emergencies.

For registrations directly through GrowFit on our website:

  • Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the camp date will be eligible for a full refund, minus a 3.95% cancellation fee.
  • For cancellations occurring within 7 days of the camp start date, we are pleased to offer a credit for future participation in our camp.
  • Please be aware that cancellations on the day of the camp or after the camp has commenced are non-refundable.

If you register through a third-party service, please check their refund policy directly, as it may be more strict than ours.

Your child should bring at least 3 snacks, a hearty lunch (at most locations), two water bottles, and an extra set of clothing for younger children. For outdoor locations, please apply sunscreen before hand and pack sunscreen and protective sun gear, like hats and sunglasses.

Camp fees change depending on the location. Please see the location-specific registration pages for more information.

GrowFit always tries to accommodate drop-ins as much as possible, however, it may be difficult on busier camp days to do so. We recommend, at all times, that if you are bringing your child to a camp, that you pre-reserve their space online by registering for that specific location.

There is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate a drop-in on any given camp day.

The activities at our camp are tailored to suit the location and age groups.

For our younger campers aged 4-6, the day is filled with up to 8 different fun activities, each lasting between 30 minutes to an hour. Examples of these activities include Soccer, Bounce Houses, Basketball, Tag games, and Arts & Crafts.

For older kids aged 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12, the schedule ramps up to include 10 diverse activities throughout the day, also in 30-minute to 1-hour intervals. Activities for these age groups might include Bubble Soccer, Badminton, Roller Skating, Basketball, Dodgeball, Soccer, and Volleyball, providing a wide range of fun and engaging options.

Absolutely, we warmly welcome campers of all skill levels, including beginners. In fact, many of our younger campers have never played sports before, while some of our older campers might already be regulars on sports teams. There’s no need for any previous sports experience to join in on the fun!

Our GrowFit team members are top-notch and bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. Their qualifications span from specialized certifications all the way to bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology. Not only are they experts in their area of focus and deeply passionate about engaging with kids, but they’re also fully trained in the distinctive GrowFit approach.

We place a high emphasis on comprehensive and continuous training. Additionally, to guarantee the highest level of safety, all of our managers hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.

Yes, indeed! To ensure that all campers have the best possible experience at our camp, we group them by age. This approach allows us to tailor the activities, challenges, and interactions to be age-appropriate and engaging for each group. It’s a great way for kids to make new friends who are close in age and share similar interests.

Kids need to be at least four years old to join our camp. However, in special cases, a camp manager might make an exception for children younger than four, although this is uncommon. For more information, please get in touch with us.

Yes. If you give us 7 days advance notice and space is available, you may transfer your session to a different week. You will have to contact info@growfitpe.com or call (650) 394-5265 to do so. 

You have the flexibility to transfer your session, but it’s important to note that this can only be done between campers who are part of your immediate family. This means that if you’re unable to attend or wish to pass on the opportunity, you can only transfer the session to a sibling, or another closely related family member. This policy helps us maintain a structured and familial environment within our camp community.

Definitely! If your camper has a friend they’d like to be grouped with, you can mention this on the registration page. Please keep in mind, though, that we can’t mix campers from different age groups together. This is because our activities are carefully crafted to suit the specific developmental stages and interests of each age group.

If your camper needs any special arrangements during their camp experience, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email or phone. The safety and well-being of every camper is our utmost concern, and we are dedicated to creating a safe, fun, and supportive atmosphere for all. We warmly welcome all campers who can ensure their own safety and other campers’ safety and adhere to directions. We’re ready to work with you to accommodate any specific requirements your camper may have.

Every member of our GrowFit team undergoes thorough background checks and participates in professional development tailored to teaching camp. We ensure that campers are constantly supervised throughout the day. Should a minor injury occur, we’ll inform parents through a phone call, email, or directly at pick-up/drop-off. In the event of an emergency, we will immediately call 911 and promptly contact the parent or guardian.

Absolutely. Our team practices evacuation drills for fires, earthquakes, lockdowns, and any other potential emergencies that could occur on campuses. In the event of an emergency, we immediately call emergency responders to ensure everyone’s safety.

To view past registrations you’ll need to log in to your care.com account. Then go to the top right corner, click your name and then it should show all of your registrations through our system.

Welcome to Camp Check-In and Check-Out!

Making sure all our campers are safe and sound is super important to us. So, we’ve set up a few simple rules for dropping off and picking up that help keep everyone secure and happy.

Drop-Off Time

Please make sure a grown-up (someone 18 or older) is there to say hello and see your camper safely into camp.

Pick-Up Time

When it’s time to head home, we ask that only people who are on your camper’s approved pick-up list can sign them out. This list is something you help us with when you sign up.

We’re thrilled to open our camp doors to all kids! Over the years, we’ve welcomed many children with special needs, disabilities, or health conditions—some with extra support and some flying solo. If your child needs special services for a disability or medical reason, we can arrange for them to receive support from their therapist while they’re having fun at camp, as long as we sort out a few details first.

Therapists who come along with campers need to follow the same rules and guidelines as our camp staff and stick to all the laws that apply.

At GrowFit Camp, all our little campers need to be fully independent in the bathroom before they join us for the fun. This means moving on from training pants to regular underwear. We totally get that accidents can happen now and then, but these should be just occasional slips, not an everyday thing.

To be all set for camp, your child should be able to:

  • Let someone know they need to go to the bathroom well in advance
  • Stop their activity and head to the restroom when the need arises
  • Manage their own clothing before and after using the loo, all by themselves
  • Take care of their personal hygiene post-bathroom use
  • Get on and off the toilet with no help needed
  • Wash and dry their hands all on their own
  • Give themselves enough time to get to the restroom, even if they have to wait a little if it’s in use

Kids should be dressed in clothes they can easily handle themselves to ensure they have a successful and independent bathroom experience.

If a child continues to have frequent accidents, it may indicate they’re not quite ready for GrowFit Camp based on our restroom readiness policy.

Refunds & Credit Requests

As a reminder:

Refunds are given to all families that cancel at least 7 days prior to the first day of camp. Cancellations within 7 days can be used as credit. Cancellations on the day of camp or after the camp dates are non-refundable. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some refunds are available without the usual restrictions. Please see our COVID-19 Information page for more information.
